Lots of small things to finish up. Car About General: I purchased this car recently from it's first owner (my aunt) whom drove it back and forth to work since it was new. I thought it was sporty and it got better gas mileage than my old Mopars and my highly modified 04 SRT-4, plus it was a car I could just drive. Little did I know that the modification bug was going to hit me on this project as well. I still plan on using it as daily transportation, but wanted to add more show and go, as I attend car shows all year long with my other vehicles and of course can never go fast enough while driving (track or street).

Well, I've been wanting to build a nice laundry room for a while now. I have a couple old machines, a Maytag Washer I bought from the R & D department when Maytag was still in my town and a Maytag dryer that my Grandfather had refurbished a while back. Since my grandmother died (back in 2002) I been doing all my Grandfathers laundry, so I've always just brought mine with me and did it at his place. Kind of a way to make sure I got over there to do his laundry, but also a way for me to save a few bucks. But time has passed, and Brittany would really like a functioning laundry room, and I guess I'm even getting a bit tired having to drive to town to do laundry (I live about 5 miles outside of town, and about 15 minutes from my Grandfathers house).
With the Energy Tax credits, I figured that this is as good a time as any to go ahead and get the project rolling. The laundry space is roughly 14' x 11' and contains the Furnance, Water Heater, and Main Waste pipe. Also in the room is my below ground sump and battery back up system and has a laundry chute. Back in 2006, I had a Basement Water System installed. During this time I trenched around the entire interior perimeter of the basement and laid in a water track that runs to a submerged sump pump. It works fantastically and prevents my basement from getting even a single drop of water in it (as long as the sump is working). I added a space for a battery back up next to the sump as well, in case of emergencies. With that project completed, I destroyed the basement bathroom and rebuilt it from scratch. It looked so good, that I felt that the rest of the basement deserved some similar attention too. The next most important area was the Laundry area. Here are pics of the four corners of the space, with everything removed and ready for renovation. WALL 1 Is an interior wall and has a wood panel wall, laundry area entry door, laundry chute and furnance/water heater setup shared with Wall 4 (IMG:http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t250/Mopar_McNeer/Home%20Renovation/EmptyBasementWall1.jpg) (IMG:http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t250/Mopar_McNeer/Home%20Renovation/EmptyBasementWall1-narrow.jpg) (IMG:http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t250/Mopar_McNeer/Home%20Renovation/FurnanceWaterHeaterSetUp.jpg) WALL 2 is part of the front wall of my house, it has a Window and the sump exit piping and power source (IMG:http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t250/Mopar_McNeer/Home%20Renovation/EmptyBasementWall2.jpg) WALL 3 is part of the East side of my house, it has the main water line, shares the sump with Wall 2, and shares the Main Waste Pipe with Wall 4 (IMG:http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t250/Mopar_McNeer/Home%20Renovation/EmptyBasementWall3.jpg) WALL 4 is an interior wall, actually the bathroom I finished last year, it has an opening that leads to the bathroom, shares the Main Waste Pipe with Wall 3 and Shares the Furnace & Water Heater area with Wall 1 (IMG:http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t250/Mopar_McNeer/Home%20Renovation/EmptyBasementWall4.jpg) |
