I've got a couple issues starting with my 95/atx venge.

first. there's a weird hesitation. while driving, doesn't matter what speed. the car will like stumble on itself. Complete power loss for a split second. the CEL will flash, but not stay on. It will disengage the cruise contol too. then it's like nothing happened. runs fine for a while....
problem is intermitent. some days it doesn't do it at all. I'm thinking it may be the coil....but it've got a MSD coil on there.
Car does have 158K on original motor. maybe fuel related??? I"m stumped on this one because it's so intermitent with no apparent cause.

Second. The cruise control has started to cut itself off intermitently.....unrelated to the other issue. Just cruising along...then it just cuts itself off. I hit resume(knob up) and it will sometime resume...sometimes not. sometimes it will do this and not come back on at all. it's really weird because sometimes it will work fine...and other times not.
It kinda important because I live 45 miles from work...and when seeing my daughter i'm 112 miles from work. Cruise helps ALOt as you can imagine.


maybe my car is just on it's last legs. IDK. I really can't afford anything else right now. can't really afford to fix this one.

Any ideas.

Hello all.

I'll be moving to Tulare, Ca in about 3 weeks. working at NAS Lemoore. Not sure where you would clasiffy Tulare...but my wife is from Bakersfield, hence why I"m moving there.

I will be selling my turbo venge...but will still have my 95 that I've had since 1999.

Just wondering if there would be anyone near me.

I really need this car sold. Due to life issues, make me an offer, if you are serious and we can do this in a month or less, she is yours. Seriously.

Life has a taken a rough turn, and I can no longer complete the plans I had for it.

that's the same one where Disturbingavenger came in and dropped 250whp @ 15psi.

The car is the 2nd(I believe) turbo'd Avenger EVER!! Ernie built the engine in this car.

forged internals (JE pistons, Eagle H-beam rods)
crank had something done to it before I bought it that messed up the crank slightly, it's fixed by Ernie

HKS external wastegate w/ 10psi spring. only runs on 2 cyld

powder coated valve cover and other engine items
egr system was removed, but i had to re-install for emissions test..which it hasn't passed yet
vortech SFMU with 12:1 spring( I have the entire spring pack, just havn't changed it yet)
fuel pressure gauge under hood (I had to install this after buying the car)
ford 30lb/hr injectors
Manual boost controler, under hood
160 temp thermostat
EGT gauge
Oil pressure gauge

stupid A/F gauge in door vent
SAFC not hooked up correctly, just monitors

I have a question about the old photo gallery from before the site was changed this last time.

there used to be a link to that gallery to access pics and stuff...because some happened and one could not copy the pics off there.

Is that still accessable somewhere on here ??? Or did it go bye bye???

Is it still hangin around in cyberspace somewhere so that one might get to it and get some old pics that didn't get saved before.

well...as the title says....I have questions on rebuild. Honest opinions from experience please.

My blue avenger has 145K on it...has sucked up water once due to CAI...but still runs on same original engine.
starting to shut off randomly....no reason. starts right back up. sometime has a "hiccup" while driving. CEL came on today. no reader to check codes. ill hit auto zone later this week.
I have NO specialty tools for a rebuild, and really only have half a garage to work in right now.

would it be cheaper in the long run to buy a crate motor,
or to have the stock engine rebuilt at a shop( I have no hookups/trustworthyness here),
or just try to do it myself and just take the block to a shop for machining/measuring.

Time is also an issue...as this is my daily driver, and ES-R is not street legal here yet.
