Yesterday, I got sick and tired of waiting for my body person to actually do something with my molds for my custom wide body kit side skirts. I went ahead and got the strongest type of resin I could find, which was $50, and the strongest looking woven fiberglass I could find. I also picked up some kittyhair to give the side skirts a little more support.

So last night, I layed down the fiberglass over my mold, mixed up some resin and poured it. That took all night to dry and my side skirt for my driver side is 1/2 done. :wackit: Tonight, since I know what the hell I am doing now, the driver side and passenger side should be roughly 100% complete!

I also talked to my body person about it, and he said it was no problem and that he wants to mold them onto my car when I get finished.

If he takes too long, I might just do it myself. So far, I am happy with how one is coming out.

Okay, here is a picture I took today of them. Of course, not finished. Waiting for the resin to dry. The one on the right is almost 100% complete. Hopefully I will have them molded to the car by Thursday. The resin held up pretty well to a little beating test I gave it. :dunno: So I really hope this set comes out better then the other POS set I make in about 1 day. I will need to spot fill the hell out of it, sand it a little, then mold it on the car.

And.... You will get new picture as I progress throw this tommorow.

Anyway, my driver side skirt is surprisingly already dry after 6 hours of waiting. :) My passenger side, the rear 1/2 is dry, but I just layed the glass and resin about an hour ago. I was getting frusterated also because I was barefoot, and stepped inside my bucket of resin. Thank god that takes forever to dry, otherwise I could have had a mold of my foot for sale or something. Anyway, tommorow, I am going to spotfill all the billions of inperfections, sand it a little (really do not need a lot of sanding, which is a plus). If I do get all the holes filled and sanded, I will be molding it to the car tommorow also, and preimering them.

God, that'll be it. Then paint, and rims.

The side skirts is 1 inch thicker than a normal Eclipse side skirt to it can fit my wide body.

Update!

Okay, I let the skirts dry overnight. The ONLY things I have to do right now it spot fill, and sand. Then they get molded on hopefully tonight.

I am at work man. I don't get off until 4 and then if I need to spot fill, that shit takes forever to dry, than I have to sand. And I am hand sanding it. I should by a sander today and get the shit down in 1/4 the time I have been spending on them. I will get them done.
